Planes over water

AIR FORCE PHOTOS

A C-130 Hercules uses an unimproved runway during training at Red Devil tactical airstrip at Fort Carson, Colo. Landings often rocks and other debris to hit the underside of the aircraft. The 302nd Maintenance Group started adding protective tape to the struts to alleviate the damage caused by rocks. The C-130 is with the 302nd Airlift Wing. (U.S. Air Force photo/Chief Master Sgt. James Riley)
