AF hosts Warrior Care Sitting Volleyball Tournament
The volleyball courts were clear as athletes made their way into the Pentagon Athletic Center. Some arrived in wheelchairs. Some were missing limbs. Many had wounds which couldn’t be seen. As they sat down on the court for warm-ups, they all had something in common…they were all wounded warriors.
About 50 wounded warriors participated in the joint-service Warrior CARE Sitting Volleyball Tournament here Nov. 17.

Pentagon holds 4th Annual Pentagon Sitting Volleyball Tournament
Fifty-two active-duty and veteran athletes from each of the military services and the U.S. Special Operations Command participated in the 4th Annual Pentagon Sitting Volleyball Tournament Nov. 20 at the Pentagon Athletic Club.

Fans and players from the Air Force and the Army flooded into the U.S Olympic Training Center gymnasium Oct. 1, to watch as the two services clashed in this one last game with the 2014 Warrior Games sitting volleyball bronze medal on the line.

Sitting Volleyball: Marines, Airmen square off in battle of undefeated team at 2014 Warrior Games
The floor of the stadium shook and the cheers from the audience filled the room with excitement as the Marine Corps and Air Force teams took to the volleyball court on Sept. 29, during the 2014 Warrior Games hosted here at the United States Olympic Training Center.

Wounded warriors gain confidence during Pentagon volleyball contest
Gung-ho spirits were the norm as wounded-warrior athletes from the four services, U.S. Special Operations Command and the Department of Veterans Affairs clashed at the 3rd Annual Joint Services Sitting Volleyball Tournament, in recognition of Warrior Care Month.
