3/11/2011 5:33:53 AM ET What's sad is some people don't see why this is silly. So I'll spell it out...CAPTAIN IS PRETTY MUCH A GUARENTEED RANK - JUST AS MUCH AS SRA IS. To not make captain pretty much means you've made some really bad decisions in your career.

3/10/2011 4:51:25 PM ET Hey Phil, where in the article does it say that officers promotions are more important than enlisted promotions? All the article is mentioning is the stats. Why they are news? Why are any promotion results news? Rob, no, SrA and Capts are not equivalent ranks just becaue they share a 3. Still haven't seen a SrA flight commander...with equivalent responsibiltiies and accountability. Check the different oaths too. By the same token, tell an O-6 that hisher rank is equivalent to an E-6. Let me know how it goes, and yes, absolutely, I would love to see A1C and SrA promotion numbers/news here too.

3/10/2011 4:33:51 PM ET I agree with the rest of you. It's harder to make a good cup of coffee than it is to make Capt. But what really gets me are the three 1Lts that were APZ...and one DIDN'T make it! How do you fail to make captain twice?

3/10/2011 9:20:28 AM ET WOW, scratches head. In 20 years of AD AF service I have never seen anything like this. But it goes to show that the AF thinks officers getting promoted is more important than the enlisted force promotions. I think that the young airman who can tolerate and survive today's AF deserves the same spotlight if not a brighter one.

3/9/2011 4:53:16 PM ET This reminds me of one of the funniest things I ever heard during my time in the AF - He/she has a line number for SrA.

3/9/2011 3:49:28 PM ET Why is this news? Should tell us why the two LAF officers didn't make it. Guess we should post the promotions to A1C and SrA as well on the AF website so all can see that most airmen get promoted.

3/8/2011 6:24:05 PM ET Why is this news? All but 2 individuals were selected. I think we should list the promotion numbers to SrA since that seems to be a equivilent rank based off of promotion rate.
