6/22/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials have announced the winners of the 2011 Air Force Association Outstanding Air Force Civilian of the Year awards.

Each year, the AFA recognizes four Air Force civilian employees for outstanding achievement in any career field. This year's recipients were:

Civilian wage employee of the year: Scott Reu, aircraft electrician work leader, Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.

Civilian program specialist of the year: Christine Bushby, mortuary affairs coordinator, Maxwell AFB, Ala.

Civilian program manager of the year: Isaiah Whittaker, training development element chief, Vandenberg AFB, Calif.

Civilian senior manager of the year: Brenda Cook, deputy base civil engineer, Langley AFB, Va.

Ms. Cook will receive her award in September at the AFA's 2011 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exposition in Washington, D.C. The remaining winners will receive their awards at state and local chapter ceremonies.
