6/29/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- As part of a continuing Air Force initiative to provide on-site civilian personnel recruitment support, Air Force Personnel Center officials will stand up an operating location at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, July 1. This is the last of five AFPC OLs to support commanders and missions at the Air Force's large civilian centers.

"AFPC will continue to work jointly with Air Force Materiel Command, Aeronautical Systems Center and Wright-Patterson AFB on the transition of civilian personnel staffing workload to the OL," said Michelle LoweSolis, AFPC civilian force integration director. "The OL will report to AFPC leadership while meeting the mission requirements of Wright-Patterson AFB."

In addition to the Wright-Patterson OL, AFPC officials activated OLs at Tinker AFB, Okla., in April 2010; the Air Force District of Washington in July 2010; Hill AFB, Utah, on Feb. 1; and Robins AFB, Ga., May 1.

"With a supported AFPC presence at the LCCs, AFPC will have first-hand knowledge of trends and mission requirements to ensure success in civilian staffing at Wright-Patterson AFB and the other LCCs," said Maj. Gen. A. J. Stewart, AFPC commander. "Our expectation is no degradation in the civilian hiring process and to relentlessly strengthen our Air Force for the challenges ahead."

The Wright-Patterson OL will support more than 16,560 Air Force civilians at Wright-Patterson AFB, as well as AFMC civilians assigned to tenant organizations at Hanscom AFB, Mass.

Many Wright-Patterson AFB staff members will transition to the OL. Because they understand the processes and missions and have the full reach-back capability to AFPC for support and assistance, their transition will further enhance civilian personnel process effectiveness.

Once established, the OL team will produce job referral lists, extend job offers, in-process new civilian employees and provide staffing advice to managers, among other functions.
