Nominations open for Flemming awards

6/30/2011 - RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials are accepting nominations for the 63rd Annual Arthur S. Flemming Awards.

The Flemming awards recognize outstanding federal employees who made significant and extraordinary contributions to the federal government.

The three award categories are: managerial or legal achievement; basic science; and applied science, engineering and mathematics.

Nominations are open to federal employees and service members who have at least three, but no more than 15 years of service through Dec. 31, 2011. Each major command, field operating agency and direct reporting unit may submit one nomination per category.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their MAJCOM, FOA or DRU for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures. Additional guidance and nomination forms are also available at http://flemming.gwu.edu.

Completed nomination packages must be sent to the Air Force Personnel Center by Dec. 1, 2011.
