5/9/2012 - CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (AFNS) -- Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Roy visited Airmen assigned to Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa and other tenant commands here May 5 and 6.

The primary purpose of the visit was to speak to the Airmen deployed here and gain insight into their health and well-being, officials said.

During his stop, Roy also visited with CJTF-HOA senior leadership and toured various Air Force units located at Camp Lemonnier.

"As I talked to Airmen, they are excited about being here," Roy said. "They think that this is a worthwhile deployment -- one that continues to help in our national security -- and (the Airmen) are proud of what they do each and every day."

To help make his assessment, Roy had breakfast with a select group of junior enlisted Airmen, lunch with a small group of NCOs and then held an Air Force all-call.

Roy used each opportunity to interact with the Airmen, address their concerns and share information regarding the Air Force directly from the top.

"It was nice to be able to sit down with someone who plays such a big role in the enlisted Air Force and be able to talk one-on-one and ask questions," said Senior Airman Jessica Dunahoo, a CJTF-HOA computer technician.

Roy expressed his own impression of the Airmen serving in today's Air Force.

"I can tell you that I couldn't be prouder of our Airmen," he said. "They are in the fight today, and they are making a difference in the battle space."

The reason why Airman are excited about being at Camp Lemonier is that its run by the Navy under AFRICOM and they are not under all the assinine rules like everyone in CENTCOMAl Udied. Don't believe me Check out 11Degrees on a Thursday night when everyone is wearing their club clothes drinking it up or going to the beach or cheeta preserve.
