7/20/2012 - BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- In response to the shooting incident that occurred at the Aurora Mall Movie Theater in Aurora, Colo., early July 20, Buckley Air Force Base has activated an Emergency Family Assistance Control Center, a Traumatic Stress Response Events Team and several chaplains to assist family members affected by this tragedy.

According to a Department of Defense release, two Airmen and one Sailor were injured in the shooting, and one Sailor, known to have been at the theater that evening, is currently unaccounted for.

"The Buckley Air Force Base team is coordinating with local authorities to assist as requested. We are also accounting for all of our military personnel to determine if any members were injured in this tragic event," said Col. Daniel Dant, the 460th Space Wing commander. "Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of this horrific tragedy. We have services available for all military that were involved and their families."

Has there been any word about the missing sailor since this article was posted? Very glad, though not at all surprised to see how the AF is caring for its own and for other service members. Praying for all those who were injured or killed and for their families.
