'Today's Air Force' covers Welsh, safety, warrior care

8/9/2012 - FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (AFNS) -- Air Force Television News released a new edition of "Today's Air Force" on Aug. 3.

The first segment, "Straight From the Top," highlights Gen. Mark A. Welsh III's nomination to the position of chief of staff of the Air Force. Later, Senior Airman Marshall Hunsaker covers what some bases are doing for summer safety. Finally, Air Force broadcasters follow medical professionals taking care of wounded warriors from Southwest Asia to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

This 30-minute, bi-weekly news show can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel and American Forces Television Service stations around the world.

The show also airs on more than 140 public cable-access stations within the U.S.

This week's line-up includes:

Block 1
- Straight from the Top: A few words from Gen Mark A. Welsh III about his nomination to CSAF
- SEAC Visit: The senior enlisted advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff talks to Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., Airmen.
- 5th AF change of command: The 5th Air Force received a new commander.

Block 2
-Car Seat Safety: Airmen at Aviano Air Base, Italy, help make sure parents know how to protect their children.
-Safety: The safety offices at Osan AB, South Korea, are issuing a challenge.
-Motorcycle Safety: Joint Base Andrews, Md., made sure their riders stayed informed.
-TWIP: This Week in Photos

Block 3
-CSAF Sending Heroes: Getting wounded warriors back to the U.S. safely is a top priority for these Airmen.
-ASF: These Airmen are on the receiving end of the wounded warrior trip home.
-Facial Prosthetics: Helping wounded warriors lead a better life through prosthetics.
-Little Things: Sometimes the littlest things make the biggest impact.
