8/10/2012 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- The Department of Defense announced today the death of an Airman who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Maj. Walter D. Gray, 38, of Conyers, Ga., died Aug. 8 from injuries suffered during a suicide bomb attack in Kunar province, Afghanistan.

Gray was assigned to the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Carson, Colo.

David, my heart aches for you and your family. I know that you are in the presence of the Lord and that His arms are around your family. You lived your life being a great example of a husband father and friend. You will never be forgotten and your family is always in our prayers.
