10/9/2012 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- When driving, you can save gas by simply going the speed limit, as well as maintaining proper tire pressure. Better yet: try carpooling. Carpooling, even once a week, can save as much as 20 percent on commuting fuel costs.

To Chin-Bob Really Think about it. If you ride to work with someone else 1 day out of 5 then you do not use 20 percent of the gas you normally use. That's the source of that statistic. Geesh.

Robert Chin carpooling once a week means that for the typical commuter at least one car isn't being driven one out of five days. That is 20 percent.
