Hurlburt Airman found dead after boating mishap identified

10/23/2012 - HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. (AFNS) -- An active-duty Hurlburt Airman who was found dead Oct. 21 after a boating mishap has been identified.

Rescue workers recovered the body of Airman 1st Class Colby Siegel, 1st Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, in Mary Esther, Fla., at 7:44 a.m. that day, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's office.

"All of Team Hurlburt is saddened by the loss of Airman Siegel," said Col. Jim Slife, the commander of 1st Special Operations Wing. "We express our deepest condolences to his family and all those affected by this tragedy."

The cause of the mishap is under investigation.
