12/7/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- The 2012A Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel and Major Central Selection Boards selected 90 lieutenant colonels, 176 majors and 297 captains for promotion, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced today.

The boards considered 509 lieutenant colonels, 584 majors and 303 captains, with the following results:
In the promotion zone for colonel: Dental Corps - 15 selected from 24 considered for 62.5 percent select rate
Medical Corps - 65 selected from 103 considered for 63.1 percent select rate
Above the promotion zone for colonel: Dental Corps - 1 selected from 42 considered for 2.4 percent select rate
Medical Corps - 5 selected from 111 considered for 4.5 percent select rate
Below the promotion zone for colonel: Dental Corps - 1 selected from 33 considered for 3 percent select rate
Medical Corps - 3 selected from 196 considered for 1.5 percent select rate
In the promotion zone for lieutenant colonel: Dental Corps - 27 selected from 27 considered for 100 percent select rate
Medical Corps - 139 selected from 143 considered for 97.2 percent select rate
