Airman fatally injured at MacDill AFB

1/16/2013 - MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. (AFNS) -- A member of the 6th Air Mobility Wing died in an industrial area accident here Jan. 14, at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The Airman has been identified as Staff Sgt. Emily Elizabeth Clayburn, of Palatine Bridge, N.Y. The 29-year-old Airman was assigned to the 6th Logistic Readiness Squadron.

"The 6th Air Mobility Wing lost a valued member of our Air Force family, and we are deeply saddened. Staff Sgt. Clayburn will be missed by the entire wing and all who had the opportunity to serve with her," said Col. Scott DeThomas, 6th Air Mobility Wing commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
