3/8/2013 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- More than 700 captains, majors and lieutenant colonels have been selected for promotion, Air Force Personnel Center officials announced today.
Promotion-selects were considered during the November CY12B Colonel Line of the Air Force and Nurse Corps, CY12C Lieutenant Colonel Nurse Corps, and CY12B Major NC/LAF-Judge Advocate central selection boards held in November 2012.

The boards selected 529 out of 3,986 lieutenant colonels considered 69 out of 378 majors considered and 177 out of 239 captains considered for promotion to the next grade. Results are as follows:
In-the-promotion zone for colonel: LAF - 424 selected from 921 considered for 46 percent select rate
NC - 17 selected from 39 considered for 43.6 percent select rate
Above-the-promotion zone for colonel: LAF - 7 selected from 827 considered for .8 percent select rate
NC - 3 selected from 56 considered for 5.4 percent select rate
Below-the-promotion zone for colonel:
LAF - 76 selected from 2,049 considered for 3.7 percent select rate
NC - 2 selected from 94 considered for 2.1 percent select rate
In-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel: NC - 57 selected from 98 considered for 58.2 percent select rate
Above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel: NC - 6 selected from 90 considered for 6.7 percent select rate
Below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel: NC - 6 selected from 190 considered for 3.2 percent select rate
In-the-promotion zone for major: NC - 92 selected from 112 considered for 82.1 percent select rate
LAF-J - 75 selected from 80 considered for 93.8 percent select rate
Above-the-promotion zone for major: NC - 9 selected from 45 considered for 20 percent select rate
LAF-J - 1 selected from 2 considered for 50 percent select rate
