For 75 years, American Airmen have excelled as they execute the Air Force mission to fly, fight, and win — delivering airpower anytime, anywhere in defense of our nation.

Airmen are called to “Innovate, Accelerate and Thrive” as the U.S. Air Force and Department of the Air Force approach their 75th anniversaries on Sept. 18, 2022. Airmen will always be there to provide America with the airpower it needs to defend the nation, deter or defeat our adversaries, reassure our partners and allies, and help diplomacy proceed from a position of strength.

SO YOU GOT ORDERS TO GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE. YOU’RE PROBABLY
THINKING “WHERE IS THAT” OR “OH NO’… IT’S GONNA BE SO COLD”. ALTHOUGH
IT DOES GET COLD HERE, DURING THE OTHER THREE SEASONS GRAND FORKS
COMES ALIVE. EVERY DAY THE SUN IS OUT SO ARE THE PEOPLE.

GRAND FORKS AIR FORCE BASE IS LOCATED NEAR THE EASTERN BOARDER OF
NORTH DAKOTA AND MINNESTOA. THE BASE AS ALL THE NORMAL AMENTITIES
LIKE THE BX, CLOTHING SALES, COMMISSARY AND DEFAC. AIRMEN HAVE A
CHOICE OF HOUSING ON OR OFF BASE. ON BASE THERE ARE OVER 500 HOMES IN
A VARIETY OF LAYOUTS. SINGLE AIRMEN THAT ARE NEW TO AIR FORCE LIFE WILL
LIVE IN ONES OF THE DORMS. EACH DORM HAS A PRIVATE LIVING SPACE AND
SHARED KITCHEN AND WASH ROOM. ON BASE THERE ARE PLENTY OF ACTIVITIES
TO LIKE ROCK WALL CLIMBING, INDOOR SWIMMING POOL AND ARCHERY RANGE.
OUR BASE THEATER EVEN SHOWS FIRST RUN MOVIES.

IF THE THINGS ON BASE DON’T SATIFY YOU THE LOCAL AREA HAS MORE TO
OFFER. FOR EXAMPLE, THERE ARE PLENTY OF PARKS, FOR BOATING, WALKING,
AND BIKING. STADIUMS FOR ALL THE SPORTS FANS IN THE FAMILY, AND …MUCH
…MUCH …MORE. PET LOVERS DON’T WORRY THERE ARE A VARIRTY OF ACTIVITES
AND PARKS FOR YOUR FURRY FRIENDS AS WELL. IN GRAND FORKS’S DOWNTOWN
AREA JUST 18 MILES FROM THE BASE YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING ALMOST EVERY
WEEKEND. EVENTS LIKE FARMERS MARKETS, HISTORICAL TOURS, AND LIVE
CONCERTS. WHEN THE SUN IS SHINNING THIS COMMUNITY CAN PUT A SMILE ON
ANYONES FACE. SO WHEN YOU GET HERE RMEMBER GRAND FORKS IS COOLER
THAN YOU THINK.
