BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE L. SCHULSTAD Brigadier General George L. Schulstad is vice commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. He assists the commander in procurement, supply and maintenance of primary weapons systems, including the F-4 and F-16 fighters, Minuteman and Titan intercontinental ballistic missiles, simulators, range management, silver recovery, air-to-air and ground missiles for operational units worldwide. General Schulstad was born in Grand Forks, N.D. He completed secondary education and attended college in North Dakota and northern Minnesota. He taught school for one year in rural North Dakota. General Schulstad holds a baccalaureate degree from Park College, Mo., and a master's degree from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He attended the Harvard Business School's advanced management program in 1972. General Schulstad is a command pilot with more than 6,200 flying hours. He achieved a military parachutist rating from the U.S. Army Airborne Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga. In addition to extensive flying assignments with U.S. Air Force fighter units in the Pacific, Europe and the United States, General Schulstad has participated in Department of Defense Pilot Exchange Programs with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Europe and the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet in the Pacific. General Schulstad commanded the 560th and 308th Tactical Fighter Squadrons in Tactical Air Command and Pacific Air Forces. He has served with the staff at Headquarters TAC and the Air Staff in Washington, D.C. Recent assignments include vice commander, 432d Tactical Fighter-Reconnaissance Wing at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand; commander, 405th Fighter Wing and 3d Tactical Fighter Wing, Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines; and commander, AAFES-Pacific. He was deputy commander of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, with headquarters at Dallas, Texas, until assuming his present duty in February 1977. He was promoted to the grade of brigadier general Sept. 1, 1975, with date of rank Aug. 9, 1975. (Current as of March 1977)
