BRIGADIER GENERAL (DR.) BEALER T. ROGERS JR. Brigadier General (Dr.) Bealer T. Rogers Jr. is command surgeon, Air Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. General Rogers was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Tallahassee, Fla. In 1947, after graduation from Leon County High School in that city, he attended Emory University in Atlanta and received a bachelor of science degree in 1951. He continued at Emory University in the School of Medicine and received his doctor of medicine degree in 1954. He completed surgical internship in 1955 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. General Rogers received a direct Air Force commission in 1955 and was assigned to the Air Force Institute of Technology with duty assignment as a general surgery' resident at Emory University Hospital. He completed specialty training in 1959. The general has served as chief, Department of Surgery at the Air Force hospital, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.; and director of base medical services, Thule Air Base, Greenland. He was reassigned to Fairchild as interim hospital commander and chief of aerospace medicine. He was then assigned as director of base medical services at the Air Force hospital at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., and later as director of professional services and deputy surgeon, Second Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. He was the director of base medical services at the Air Force hospital at Plattsburgh Air Force Base, N.Y.; returned as surgeon, Second Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base; and then director of base medical services and surgeon, Alaskan Air Command, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. He served as chief, Medical Inspection Division, and deputy director of medical inspections for the Air Force Inspection and Safety Center, Norton Air Force Base, Calif., until April 1979 when he assumed command of the Air Force Medical Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He assumed his present position in August 1980. He is a chief flight surgeon, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Air Force Society of Clinical Surgeons, Air Force Society of Flight Surgeons, American Medical Association, J.S. Thoroughman Surgical Society and Aerospace Medical Association. General Rogers' military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal and Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster. He was promoted to brigadier general Feb. 4, 1980, with date of rank Feb. 1, 1980. (Current as of September 1980)
