MAJOR GENERAL MARK W. ANDERSON

Maj. Gen. Mark W. Anderson is the mobilization assistant to the Commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. 

The general was born in Chicago, Ill. Commissioned as a distinguished graduate through the ROTC program in 1974, General Anderson attended undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. While on active duty he served as a T-38 instructor pilot, C-130 aircraft commander and flight examiner, and experimental test pilot. He also completed graduate studies in aeronautical engineering and was selected to attend the USAF Test Pilot School, graduating at the top of his class. 

General Anderson entered the Air Force Reserve in 1989 and has served as an individual mobilization augmentee test pilot, C-130H flight examiner and tactics officer.  He has commanded an operational support flight and an airlift squadron. The general flew seven combat missions in the Bosnia area of responsibility in support of Operation Joint Endeavor. As a civilian, General Anderson is employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an experimental test pilot.
