BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEPH L. SHAEFER Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Shaefer is the mobilization assistant to the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C. General Shaefer entered the U.S. Army in 1969 and served as an infantry officer, psychological operations officer and special forces A-Team commander. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1978 and has been an intelligence analyst, command briefer, interrogator, country desk officer, mobile interrogation teams commander, air attaché and senior political military analyst. He has also served as mobilization assistant to the Director of Intelligence, Air Combat Command. In his civilian capacity, he is a writer and chairman of an investment firm.
