Brigadier General MARY HIGLEY HITTMEIER

Brigadier General Mary Higley Hittmeier serves as Mobilization Assistant to the Superintendent, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. The Air Force's Academy is responsible for creating leaders of character for the Air Force and the nation.

Gen. Hittmeier is a native of Salem, Massachusetts and graduated from St Mary’s High School in Lynn, Massachusetts. She received her commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at St. Michael's College, Winooski, Vermont in 1983. Gen. Hittmeier served six and a half years on active duty prior to entering the Air Force Reserve in 1990. She has held a variety of positions in the financial, personnel and political-military affairs career fields, has directed operations at an Air Force Audit Agency Area Audit Office, commanded a mission support squadron, served as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Commander of a group equivalent and served staff tours at the Air Staff and Secretariat levels. She has also served as the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Air Force Recruiting Service, San Antonio, Texas.
