Brig. Gen. Todd A. Fogle is the Special Assistant to the Commander, Air Force District of Washington. AFDW is the Air Force component to the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region and is responsible for organizing, training and providing combat forces for aerospace expeditionary forces, homeland operations, civil support, nation special security and ceremonial events. AFDW also provides major-command-level support for 33,000 military and civilian personnel assigned worldwide. Immediately, prior to this assignment, Brig. Gen. Fogle served as the Chief of Staff for the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, where he oversaw corps-level headquarters staff across multiple locations in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility to achieve commander’s objectives in setting security conditions for long-term security cooperation frameworks in Iraq and Syria.
Brig. Gen. Fogle entered the Air Force through the Cedarville University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, Cedarville, Ohio. He has spent the majority of his career in special operations and has led contingency operations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa and South America. He has commanded at the squadron, group, Joint Special Operations Air Component, expeditionary wing and wing levels. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Leavenworth, Kansas, the Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, Virginia, and the National Defense University, Washington D.C.
