Mr. Daniel R. Sheesley, a member of the Senior Executive Service, serves as the Director, Resource Management, to the Administrative Assistant, Secretary of the Air Force, U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Sheesley leads resource management for Headquarters U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force ensuring the planning, programming and execution of all budgetary, manpower, human resources, and civilian personnel services to support the headquarters. He is responsible for over $5.6 billion in headquarters Investment and Operations and Maintenance funds, and delivers support to more than 30,000 personnel across the department headquarters staff. He directly supports the Secretary of the Air Force, Air Force Chief of Staff, Chief of Space Operations, and the Administrative Assistant in leading effective department headquarters resource management decisions for mission accomplishment.
Mr. Sheesley served on active duty from 1990 through 2014 as an enlisted weather technician and as a commissioned officer in the financial management career field. During his military service, he held key operational and mission support positions at the squadron, wing, major command, Air Staff, and the White House. He served in various roles as a lead weather technician, squadron commander, comptroller, integrator, Air Staff budget execution branch chief, and Air Staff mission operations programming branch chief. In his civilian positions, Mr. Sheesley performed duties at Office of Secretary of Defense-level program management while at Washington Headquarters Services. He also served at the White House, leading contingency policy and planning as the Deputy Director for Policy, Plans, Requirements for the White House Military Office. He also led all White House Department of Defense administrative, personnel, and manpower requirements as the Director, Administration and Personnel Management.
