Brigadier General CHAD R. ELLSWORTH

Brig. Gen. Chad R. Ellsworth is the Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As director, he provides leadership, management and integration of aircraft and munitions maintenance, civil engineers, security forces, transportation and material management, storage and distribution. His directorate supports the deployment, basing, sustainment and redeployment of military forces across an area of operations covering 19 million square miles and 104 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Additionally, he oversees force protection, logistics and base operating support for over 200 aircraft plus 63,000 military and dependents at 10 wings and 83 geographically separated units.

Brig. Gen. Ellsworth entered the Air Force in 1993 through Basic Military Training. He received his commission through Officer Training School in 2000, after earning his bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University in Alabama. As a career logistician, he has served in various positions at the wing, major command, Secretary of the Air Force, Joint Staff and Office of the Secretary of Defense levels.

Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Ellsworth served as the Commander of Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Defense Supply Center Richmond, in Virginia. While there, he led a team of more than 4,300 civilian and military personnel in support of over 2,340 weapons systems. He also served as the Base Commander for Defense Supply Center Richmond, providing installation support, services and security for 20 tenants, including the two-star Virginia National Guard Joint Headquarters.
