Brigadier General TRAVIS L. EDWARDS

Brig. Gen. Travis L. Edwards is the Commander, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This composite wing includes airlift; aerial refueling; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and aeromedical evacuation assets, which support operations Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield. The wing provides support to more than 5,400 Air Force, joint and coalition forces and 55 mission partners.

Brig. Gen. Edwards received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from the University of Tampa in 1996 and received his commission though Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School, Air Command and Staff College and the United States Marine Corps War College.

Brig. Gen. Edwards commanded the 344th Air Refueling Squadron, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. Following command, he served as Chief, Speechwriter to the Chief of Staff, United States Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. After a Headquarters Air Force tour, he attended the United States Marine Corps War College, Quantico, Virginia. He also served as United States Transportation Command’s Senior Liaison Officer to United States European Command, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Stuttgart, Germany. Brig. Gen. Edwards commanded the 6th Operations Group, MacDill AFB, Florida and 621st Contingency Response Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. The general then served as Deputy Director, Operations, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Illinois. Prior to his current position, the general served as Inspector General, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Illinois.
