Brig. Gen. Aaron J. Heick is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Logistics, Civil Engineering, Force Protection and Nuclear Integration, Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He assists the Director regarding policy and procedures for field and depot-level aircraft and commodities maintenance, nuclear weapon systems sustainment, software engineering, conventional munitions, logistics plans, transportation, supply chain operations and management, civil engineering, force protection and logistics information technology activities. Brig. Gen. Heick also assists the Director as the lead command integrator for life-cycle sustainment, product support and acquisition logistics across the Air Force weapon systems portfolio. Furthermore, he assists the directorate in providing infrastructure and functional support to the United States Space Force.
Brig. Gen. Heick is a 1996 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. Upon graduation from UCLA, he was sent to Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, where he filled several positions in the supply arena. Subsequently, he served three years on the northern tier at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota filling positions in fuels management and aircraft maintenance. Upon completion of his active-duty commitment, Brig. Gen. Heick transferred to the Air Force Reserve at March Air Reserve Base, California.
Since joining the Air Force Reserve, Brig. Gen. Heick has served in every duty status feasible as a reservist. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in both aircraft maintenance and logistics. He has commanded two squadrons, served as a deputy group commander twice and commanded two maintenance groups, while also serving in the Air Force Sustainment Center in various leadership positions. Finally, during his nearly twenty-four-year career in the Air Force Reserve, Brig. Gen. Heick has been mobilized three times in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to his current position, the general was the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Defense Contract Management Agency, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.
