Brig. Gen. Catherine V. “Cathy” Barrington is the Director of Global Power Programs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. She is responsible for the direction, planning and programming of more than 150 Air Force, joint service, and international programs to include the F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, Next Generation Air Dominance, Minuteman Ill, B-1, B-2, B-52, E-4B NAOC, NC3, Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile, B61, Long Range Standoff and Sentinel programs with a $22 billion annual budget.
Brig. Gen. Barrington graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 1997. She has extensive experience in missile operations, having served as a Missileer, Crew Evaluator, Senior Instructor Crew, and Maintenance Flight Commander for three different flights. During her career, Brig. Gen. Barrington commanded the 319th Missile Squadron, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming; the 91st Operations Group, Minot AFB, North Dakota; and the 90th Missile Wing, F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming.
Brig. Gen. Barrington also completed staff tours at Twentieth Air Force as Director, Operations; Headquarters, Air Force as an Intern and later as an Executive Officer; and Headquarters, Air Force Space Command where she worked classified space programs and served as a Speechwriter for the Commander. Her joint duty experience includes serving on the Joint Staff as a member of the National Military Command Center operations teams and Division Chief and most recently as the Principal Military Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of War.
