Jeffrey C. Richardson, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary of the Air Force.
In this position, he serves as the Senior Advisor and confidant for the Under Secretary of the Air Force, advising on all strategic-level Department of the Air Force matters. Additionally, Mr. Richardson is responsible for integrating, interpreting and providing Under Secretary of the Air Force guidance and decision support across two services, 44 service-level directorates, 12 Major Commands and three Field Commands, impacting approximately 696,000 personnel worldwide. He is also responsible for interfacing on behalf of the Under Secretary of the Air Force with the White House, National Security Council, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, military services and interagency partners.
Mr. Richardson is originally from Columbus, Ohio and has nearly two decades of logistics, analyst and project manager experience within the Department of Defense and Army National Guard. Most recently, he served as a Project Manager supporting the LGM-35A Sentinel program at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. In this role, Mr. Richardson was responsible for overseeing operational milestones, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and delivering tangible improvements in operational readiness and mission success rates.
In 2008 he entered the Army National Guard and served both as a traditional Guardsman and a member of the Active Guard Reserve program. During his career, Mr. Richardson has filled key positions supporting Combat Engineer, Military Police and Military Intelligence units at the company, battalion and brigade levels. Most recently, Mr. Richardson was pivotal in fusing intelligence data and law enforcement collaboration in support of the National Guard Counterdrug Program. In this position, he leveraged cutting edge technology and skilled analysts to ensure the CDP remained adaptable and responsive to the dynamic nature of drug related challenges, ensuring community safety and the preservation of national security.
