Mr. Brian Scarlett, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. In his position, Mr. Scarlett is responsible to the Assistant Secretary for the supervision of manpower, military and civilian personnel, Reserve component affairs, and readiness support for the nearly 680,000 Airmen and Guardians in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Space Force. He provides guidance, direction and executive oversight to the Deputy Assistant Secretaries for Force Management, Senior Executive Management and Reserve Affairs and Family Readiness as well as the Director of the Air Force Review Boards Agency.
Mr. Scarlett recently served as the Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, where he advised the Assistant Secretary on matters regarding policy and performance oversight of human resources, training, readiness, mobilization, military health affairs, force structure, manpower management and marketing.
Mr. Scarlett also served as the Director of Vetting at the White House Office of Presidential Personnel prior to his roles with the Services.
