BRIGADIER GENERAL PAUL E. BAUMAN

Brig. Gen. Paul E. Bauman is the Special Assistant to the Superintendent at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1991 and earned his pilot wings through the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. He subsequently served as a global mobility airlift pilot in the C-141B Starlifter and an Assistant Professor of History at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Brig. Gen. Bauman then cross-trained in 2011 into the C-17A Globemaster III, becoming an Instructor Pilot and Examiner Pilot while performing global airlift missions. He later commanded the Air Force's only C-17A training squadron, turning out qualified aircrew for the U.S. and partner nations. Brig. Gen. Bauman then served on the Joint Staff before an assignment as a Vice Wing Commander in Pacific Air Forces and Wing Commander in Air Mobility Command. He returned to the Joint Staff in 2015 as the Deputy Director for Future Joint Force Development. Prior to his current position, he was the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to Pakistan at Embassy Islamabad.

Brig. Gen. Bauman is a School of Advanced Air and Space Studies graduate and served as a National Defense Fellow with the Atlantic Council of the United States.
