MAJOR GENERAL JOHN P. HEALY

Maj. Gen. John P. Healy is the Commander, 22nd Air Force, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. The 22nd Air Force has command supervision of the Air Force Reserve’s tactical air mobility operations and other vital mission sets to include distinguished visitor airlift, undergraduate pilot training, flight test operations and a highly mobile civil engineering response force.

With more than 12,000 Reserve Airmen and 64 unit-equipped aircraft, 22nd Air Force contributes daily to the Air Force’s worldwide operational mission. Reserve aircrews within 22nd Air Force accomplish a variety of C-130 Hercules missions, to include aerial spray, fire suppression, weather reconnaissance, tactical airlift and airdrop and aeromedical evacuation.
Maj. Gen. Healy was commissioned through the ROTC program at the University of Connecticut in 1989. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1991 from Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Maj. Gen. Healy was part of the initial cadre for the C-17 Globemaster III program, has commanded a C-5 Galaxy squadron and served as a Vice Wing Commander at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts. Additionally, he has deployed as the Division Chief of Current Operations, U.S. Central Command Deployment and Distribution Operations Center, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

Prior to his current position, Maj. Gen. Healy served as the Director of Exercises and Assessments and Advisor on Reserve Component Affairs for U.S. European Command at Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany. In his civilian capacity he is a captain with a major airline.
