Accelerate Change: Empowered Airmen

We live in a world that is driven by rapidly changing technology and an environment that includes aggressive and capable global competitors. Airmen are key to cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, recognizing and understanding our competition, and thinking of creative ways we can reshape the design of our Air Force. The Air Force must accelerate, must change, and must prepare for the future!

This page is dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of our talented Airmen at all levels and to show the impact they can make when they are informed and empowered to problem solve and make smart recommendations and decisions.

Hurricane Florence Temporary Emergency Power Generator Assessment
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division
Sept. 19, 2018 | 2:15
The Corps’ temporary emergency power team, working alongside FEMA in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, sent Soldiers from the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), to work with local partners in Robeson County, North Carolina, to assess and a downed generator at the Fairmont Wastewater Treatment Facility. The facility is currently land-locked with the nearby Lumber River flooding the area due to the storm, including the section of Highway 74 that provides access. Corps and county officials were airlifted onto the temporary island by our federal partners at U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
