U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Timothy E. Gowen, adjutant general for Maryland, visits Maryland National Guard members participating in joint training and in-processing operations on Jan. 7, 2022, at the Dundalk Readiness Center, Dundalk, Maryland. Hundreds of MDNG Soldiers and Airmen participated in training hosted by the Maryland Department of Health on coaching self swab COVID-19 test, patient registration, and proper usage of personal protective equipment. At the direction of Governor Larry Hogan, up to 1,000 MDNG members will be activated to assist state and local health officials with their response to rising COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
