Trainees with Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment, 197th Infantry Brigade, conduct Shoulder Launched Munitions training during One Station Unit Training, Sept. 18, 2025, at Red Cloud Range, on Fort Benning, Georgia. SLMs allow Soldiers to engage enemy personnel, light armored vehicles, bunkers and other field fortifications in close combat. They are highly mobile and lightweight; improved versions can be safely fired from confined spaces found in urban environments.
