We live in a world that is driven by rapidly changing technology and an environment that includes aggressive and capable global competitors. Airmen are key to cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, recognizing and understanding our competition, and thinking of creative ways we can reshape the design of our Air Force. The Air Force must accelerate, must change, and must prepare for the future!

This page is dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of our talented Airmen at all levels and to show the impact they can make when they are informed and empowered to problem solve and make smart recommendations and decisions.

GPS III The teamwork behind the mission
Space Systems Command
Sept. 25, 2018 | 3:22
It takes a lot of teamwork and hard effort from many individuals -- and even different branches of military service to pull off a successful mission. The upcoming mid-December launch of GPS III SV-01, named "Vespucci" in honor of Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci for whom the Americas were named, is no different.

Many milestones, checklists and deadlines have to be met well in
advance before a final thumbs up can be given that a satellite or launch vehicle are "Go for Launch."

Lt. Col. Erin Gulden, GPS III program manager, Capt. S. Kyle Futch, GPS III mission operations test lead, and U.S. Navy Cmdr. Kyle (callsign: "Dream") Weaver, GPS liaison for the Space and Missile Systems Center and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), based in San Diego discuss what it takes to
lead and grow a new generation of young talent who are now standing on the shoulders of giants.

Together, the past and present are bringing about the future of GPS III, one of the most successful satellite programs the Air Force
has operated for the warfighter as well as the civilian world.
