Service members and civilians compete in a strength competition each month at the New Kabul Compound (NKC), attempting to achieve a combined weight of 1000 lbs. between 3 different lifts. This story highlights one participant’s knowledge on strength training, as well as tips on avoiding injury from NKC’s Medical Doctor. The interviews include two U.S. Army Soldiers; Staff Sgt. Joe Schiro, 1000 lbs Challenger and Capt. Darren Siedschlag, New Kabul Compound (NKC) Medical Doctor; and footage contains shots of Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and civilians taking part in NKC’s 1000 lbs. Challenge.
