Accelerate Change: Empowered Airmen

We live in a world that is driven by rapidly changing technology and an environment that includes aggressive and capable global competitors. Airmen are key to cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, recognizing and understanding our competition, and thinking of creative ways we can reshape the design of our Air Force. The Air Force must accelerate, must change, and must prepare for the future!

This page is dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of our talented Airmen at all levels and to show the impact they can make when they are informed and empowered to problem solve and make smart recommendations and decisions.

Va. RED HORSE Supports Air Show, Blue Angels
192nd Wing
May 19, 2016 | 1:00
The hook on a Blue Angels F/A-18 A Hornet, traveling at 100 knots or over 115 miles per hour, catches the aircraft arresting system cable as part of a system test at Fort Pickett, Army National Guard Maneuver Training Center, Blackstone Army Airfield, May 19, 2016. The arresting cable was installed by 13 Airmen from the Virginia Air National Guard, 203rd RED HORSE Squadron and with two subject matter experts from the Ohio Air National Guard, 200th RED HORSE Squadron. The arresting gear installation supported the nearby Lynchburg Air Show, May 20-21. Used primarily to halt jets landing on aircraft carriers, an arresting cable is the mechanical system capable of swiftly decelerating an aircraft as it lands, usually preventing mishaps and injuries in an emergency.
