Accelerate Change: Empowered Airmen

We live in a world that is driven by rapidly changing technology and an environment that includes aggressive and capable global competitors. Airmen are key to cutting unnecessary bureaucracy, recognizing and understanding our competition, and thinking of creative ways we can reshape the design of our Air Force. The Air Force must accelerate, must change, and must prepare for the future!

This page is dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of our talented Airmen at all levels and to show the impact they can make when they are informed and empowered to problem solve and make smart recommendations and decisions.

Ross Johnson, Naval Station Great Lakes and Occupational Health Manager, is reminding Sailors here to take advantage of the free motorcycle safety course on the installation. Sailors Marines and Department of Defense civilians are eligible to take the motorcycle safety course, designed to help riders develop and maintain the skills needs to safely operated a motorcycle. The 16-hour Basic Riders Course is mandatory for all active-duty Sailors who plan to operate a motorcycle, regardless of if they plan to ride on or off-base. For riders who yet to purchase a motorcycle, the course has several motorcycles for riders to train on. Beyond attending the required training, active-duty riders are required to wear the proper personal protective equipment, whether riding on or off-base. riders must wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a department of Transportation approved helmet, protective eye wear, full-fingered gloves and above-ankle shoes, preferably, steel-toed boots.
