Familiar Face
Col. Timothy Nelson, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing director of staff, revisits the C-17 Globemaster III as it reaches its 17-year mark in the Air Force inventory. Colonel Nelson was a member of the acceptance committee for this airframe while serving as an active-duty first lieutenant in the early 1990s. The committee was responsible for ensuring the new aircraft met Air Force needs and specifications. Colonel Nelson is a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve deployed from Andrews Air Force Base, Md. in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Tech. Sgt.
