Remembering Lieutenant Jones: An Airman's search for a hero's family
Familiy members of 1st Lt. George Jones gather at his burial site for a 10-year reunion May 28 at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington. Formerly missing in action, Lieutenant Jones crashed July 7, 1967, in the South China Sea. His remains were returned to his family and interred in 1997. Staff Sgt. Gary Ritter joined the family as a special guest. Sergeant Ritter had worn a POW/MIA bracelet with Lieutenant Jones' name on it for 19 years.
