More than routine maintenance
Mark Heitkotter inspects a KC-135 Stratotanker, built in 1962, during a periodic inspection at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. The KC-135 undergoes rigorous inspections every 15 months or 1,500 flying hours to make sure it is combat ready.
