Father's Day bittersweet for one Airman's family
Brig. Gen. Paul Schafer presents the U.S. flag to Angela Cooke at the funeral for her father, Staff Sgt. Calvin Cooke Jr., at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., on Tuesday, June 20. Sergeant Cooke, a C-130 Hercules loadmaster, died in April 1972 when his aircraft crashed in South Vietnam after being hit by ground fire. His remains were identified last month by experts at the Joint Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Command headquarters. General Schafer is director of the special programs office for the under secretary of defense for acquisitions, technology and logistics. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Cohen A. Young)
