intense combat training

A member of the 5th French Marine Regiment makes goat stew during a desert combat training course which began May 31, 2011, in the Bour Ougoul training area in Djibouti. Students were required to kill and prepare goats to supply themselves with half their food intake. The 10-day course provided nearly 120 French and 40 U.S. troops with a basic knowledge of field tactics and survival techniques to use in a desert environment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. R.J.
