AIR FORCE TESTING SYNTHETIC FUEL

On Sept. 19, 2006, an Air Force aircraft flew using synthetic fuel for the first time. A B-52 Stratofortress took off from Edwards AFB, Calif. , which two of the bomber's eight engines used synthetic fuel. On Dec. 15, 2006, B-52 Stratofortress flew all eight engines using synthetic fuel.
