On Jan. 27th, 2025, President Trump signed an Executive Order, authorizing individuals who were voluntarily or involuntarily separated for refusing the COVID-19 vaccination to request reinstatement in the military. The Department of the Air Force is diligently working to provide a path for reinstatement for those individuals who are interested in rejoining the service. Those who were involuntarily separated for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine may be eligible for backpay.

    The DAF recently conducted a proactive review and upgrade of personnel records, identifying 377 who were involuntarily discharged solely for declining the COVID-19 vaccination, ensuring individuals who met the eligibility requirements receive the full amount of post-service benefits.
