DAF DEIA Conference 2023

Airmen and Guardians,

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion welcomes you to the Department of the Air Force's 2023 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Conference! Each of you is critical in building and maintaining our nation's security. Your service brings great hope for the future and ensures our nation maintains our air and space superiority, not because we are all the same but because of the unique capabilities each of you brings to the fight.

This year's theme, "Respect, Recruit, Retain and Ready!", acknowledges that the diversity of our Airmen and Guardians across the total force is a key differentiator from our peer competitors. As we continue to focus on inclusive leadership, and foster a culture of trust and belonging, we know it is because of your innovation, agility, complex decision-making, and high performance our service will continue to lead the way. It is within this environment that every Airman and Guardian across the globe can serve and contribute as their authentic selves without unnecessary barriers. Together we ALL must continue to commit to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility so that our members can serve to their fullest potential.

The Department of the Air Force's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Conference is a space where practitioners and supporters alike can come together to inspire, inform, educate, and connect across topics that matter the most. Our goal this year is to engage every Airman and Guardian with thought-provoking keynotes, panel discussions, and breakout sessions to promote action and enhance our ability to achieve a more lethal and ready force.

I want to thank you in advance for bringing authenticity and curiosity to your participation this week and for adopting what you learn here to be a champion for all around you. While we do not know where the future will take us, we do know we can accomplish anything when we do it together.

MARIANNE P. MALIZIA, SES, DAF
