Prisoner of War Medal
Prisoner of War Medal. Illustrated by Virginia Reyes of the Defense Media Activity-San Antonio. This image is 4.5x8 inches @ 200 ppi. The Prisoner of War Medal was authorized Nov. 8, 1985, and is awarded to anyone who was a prisoner of war after April 5, 1917, which is the date the United States entered World War One. The Prisoner of War Medal is awarded to those who were held captive or taken prisoner during any military conflicts or operations against enemies of the United States or while serving with allied forces.

American Defense Service Medal
American Defense Service Medal. Illustrated by Virginia Reyes of the Defense Media Activity-San Antonio. This medal is awarded for any active duty service period completed between Sept. 8, 1939 and Dec. 7, 1941, if the active duty order specified service for a 12-month period or longer. A Foreign Service Clasp is attached to the ribbon and medal if the same requirements are met and the service was performed outside the continental United States (CONUS).

Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal
Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal. Illustrated by Virginia Reyes of the Defense Media Activity-San Antonio. This medal is awarded for service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater between Dec. 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946, under any of the following conditions: 1. Permanent assignment. 2. Passenger status or on TDY for 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days. 3. In active combat against the enemy, if personnel were awarded a combat decoration or furnished a certificate by the unit's commander stating they participated in combat. Personnel who were assigned or attached members of units during the period for which campaign participation credit or assault landing credit was accorded to the unit are awarded the bronze service star and arrowhead, respectively, to denote their participation in the action.

Army Good Conduct Medal
Army Good Conduct Medal. Illustrated by Virginia Reyes of the Defense Media Activity-San Antonio. This image is 4.5x8 inches @ 200 ppi. Created in 1941, this medal is awarded to any enlisted member of the United States Army who completes three consecutive years of "honorable and faithful service". This implies that such service was completed without any non-judicial punishments, disciplinary infractions, or court martial offenses. The three-year mark "resets" if the service member commits an offense and the service member must perform an additional three years of service without having to be disciplined, before the Good Conduct may be authorized.

Medal for Humane Action
Medal for Humane Action. Illustrated by Virginia Reyes of the Defense Media Activity-San Antonio. This medal is awarded to personnel who were assigned or attached to and present for duty for at least 120 days during the period June 26, 1948 and Sept. 30, 1949, inclusive, with any of the units cited in Department of the Air Force general orders for participating in the Berlin Airlift or for direct support of the Berlin Airlift. The Medal for Humane Action may be awarded to foreign armed forces members and civilians (U.S. and foreign) for meritorious participation in the Berlin Airlift. In each instance, however, an individual recommendation indicating meritorious participation is required. People whose lives were lost while participating in the Berlin Airlift, or as a direct result of participating in the Berlin Airlift, may be awarded the Medal for Humane Action without regard to the length of the service provided all other requirements are met.
