In July 2014, the Recruit/Family Inprocessing and Information Center opened dedicated for the late Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Gary Pfingston. The facility consolidates personnel processing activities that were previously performed in separate facilities. The facility also receives the newest Air Force recruits for inprocessing and is used by trainees for initial equipment issue, records initiation, military ID card issue, security clearances initiation, out-processing and dispersing up to 1,000 graduates each week to technical schools throughout the nation.
