The B-52 Stratofortress poster is the fifth poster in the U.S. Air Force 75th Anniversary series and represents the 1980s era. On March 12-14, 1980, two B-52 crews flew nonstop around the world in 43.5 hours, covering 21,256 statute miles, averaging 488 mph, and carrying out sea surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The U.S. has the world’s greatest Air Force because of those who weren’t afraid to break barriers. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Rosario "Charo" Gutierrez)
