July/August Airman magazine now available

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. (AFNS) --  The July/August issue of Airman magazine is now available to download and viewable through a web browser.

In this issue, our cover story, titled "tick, tick, BOOM," tells the story of how explosive ordnance disposal technicians perform their dangerous mission to save lives and how their state-of-the-art robots make their dangerous jobs safer.

Also featured in this month's issue is the Air Force's 60 years of air superiority and an article about Tech. Sgt. Christofer Curtis, a flight engineer, who was severely injured when a CV-22 Osprey he was in crashed in Afghanistan on April 9, 2010. He sustained 17 broken bones that required more than 20 surgeries to repair. Despite the odds, Curtis has battled back and is resuming his flying career.
